Clutch boss used in many early Simpson & Westinghouse top-suspended large & medium automatic washing machines. This part fits onto the bottom of the transmission shaft inside the ratchet & spring assembly at the bottom of the gearbox to lock or release the spin action. Excessive wear can cause the machine to jam or only wash in one direction.
