This solenoid coil is a suitable replacement for the brake solenoid in most Hoover, Simpson & Westinghouse top suspended late model washing machines, including Premier, Aquarius, Gemini, Commodore, Commander, etc.

It can also be used as a replacement for the older divertor valve solenoid as used on old Simpson, Kelvinator, Hoover and Malleys washers.

The original rivets must be drilled out on the old solenoid, but the new coil comes with replacement nuts and bolts for re-assembly.

The most common cause of failure of this solenoid is water damage due to a slight leak. Make sure when replacing that no leaks are present as there is no warranty for water damage. Low water level washing in some Simpson models can cause splashing sufficient to damage this coil. Divertor valves are often damaged by a leak at the valve itself.
